What is ETCH?

ETCH (Expressions - The Creativity Hub) provides inclusive, small-group creative and expressive sessions designed to support confidence, connection, and wellbeing.

ETCH provides small-group NDIS-funded creative and social participation sessions on the Northern Gold Coast, supporting participants to build confidence, connection, and expressive communication skills through structured art-based activities.

Who is ETCH for?

ETCH sessions are designed for adults who enjoy creative and social activities in a supportive group environment.

  • Adults with disability who enjoy creative, movement, or social-based group activities.

  • Participants who are able to engage in small-group sessions with light to moderate support

  • NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed

ETCH is not a crisis service and does not provide 1:1 support.

Sessions are facilitated in small groups with a focus on participation, safety, and inclusion.

Create & Connect

Create & Connect sessions offer inclusive, supported creative arts experiences that encourage self-expression, confidence, and social connection.
Activities vary and are adapted to participant interests, abilities, and sensory preferences. The focus is always on enjoying the creative process, not on producing a “perfect” artwork.
Activities may include:
Painting

Participants explore painting using brushes, sponges, fingers, and simple tools.
Sessions focus on colour, movement, and creativity, with participants supported to work at their own pace in a calm and encouraging environment.

Paint Pouring

Paint pouring activities use participant-friendly, low-risk techniques adapted for group settings.
The focus is on watching colours flow and mix, offering a calming and engaging sensory experience with beautiful, unpredictable results.

Mixed Media Art

Mixed media combines paint with papers, textures, and a variety of creative materials.
Participants are free to experiment with layering, textures, and personal ideas, supporting creativity, confidence, and choice-making.

Clay Hand-Building

Participants explore clay through hands-on techniques such as pinch pots, slab work, and simple sculptural forms.
Clay activities offer rich sensory input and support creativity, focus, and fine motor skills.

Collage & Decoupage

Using pre-cut images, papers, and safe adhesives, participants create personalised artworks.
This activity is ideal for participants who enjoy structured creativity, visual planning, and gentle sensory input.

Tie Dye Fabric Art

Participants explore colour and pattern by creating unique tie dye designs on fabric using safe, guided techniques. This activity encourages creativity, choice-making, and sensory engagement, while offering a relaxed and enjoyable hands on experience suitable for a range of abilities

Mosaic Art

Using pre-cut tiles and safe materials, participants create mosaic designs on boards or canvas.
This activity supports concentration, pattern recognition, and creative expression in a structured and supportive way.

Textured Canvas Art

Participants create raised designs on canvas using texture mediums and tools.
Textured canvas art provides a tactile, hands-on experience that encourages creativity and sensory exploration.
